For me, as a sound engineer this sounded first like a normal sinus waveform signal, but this was something else. First, the frequency band was wrong for being a radio signal and it seemed to correlate somehow with the local ultrasound field of nature, which is very unusual.

Rtanj area is mostly like a wilderness without dense population and urban influence. These recordings was carried out without any interference of external emissive electronic devices.
This spectogram shows the continuity of the "carrier" signal with full measuring range and length of the sample.

Fig. 4 - The spectogram of the signal (click to enlarge)
This spectogram shows the permuting frequency range of the "carrier" signal with measuring range of 38kHz-42kHz.

As you can see in these spectrums of the recording, the "carrier" signal is vibrating to natural atmospheric sounds or wise versa.

This is zoomed shape of the signal with average frequency mark.

These are few shapes of normally generated wave signals.

After about half on hour in a nearby hostel we lived, I tried to repeat the recording result but the signal was gone. In 6 different locations we made recordings in the Rtanj area, this signal never appeared. Also 3 measuring times in the same "crossroads" location showed no trace of this anomaly again.
The flora and fauna in that area is very rich and normal atmospheric ultrasound spectrum they cause is "loud" there day and night in summer. In November 2013 the same place was completely silent = natural for that season of the year.
All this data gathering on site was made with Pettersson D1000x Bat Detector nr.375. All analyzing made by HssPro.
These are 4 & 5 octaves downshifted m4a-compressed sorted audio clips from original 768kHz -files.
They are showing soundwise an interaction with the "carrier"-wave and the surrounding nature; grasshoppers, bats, crickets and birds.
It is possible that this phenomena is somehow related to unusual geological formations in the Rtanj area.
The "data sonification" method is useful for affirming visual information with true audible anomaly experience.
